« Intimate and lovely resort in Chwaka »

Intimate resort, beautifully situated by the ocean. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff is so lovely, kind, attentive and will cater to your every need. If you are looking for activities and adventures, the Filao team also as plenty to offer ! Si vous êtes francophone, une bonne partie des employé-es parlent français ! A great place to unwind, explore what Zanzibar as to offer and enjoy the ocean breeze !

Very Good

The staff were amazing from the time we arrived. Martha recieved us well and got us checked in, very freindly, helpful and welcoming. Ibrahim explained all the available tours they had on offer. The resturant staff were also so wonderful. A big thank you to Harouna, Theresa and their manager. Thank you to Peter, for the supprise dinner and beautiful romantic dinner setting in the garden on our final night.. To Fathma, and the housekerping team who were on top of things, servicing our room promptly. Very neat and clean.. Thank you to Mariam the massage therapist for the relaxing and professional service . To all the Barman who prepared our drinks, the entertainment team and finally to each and every staff member at Filao Beach Resort who contributed towards ensuring that we had such a wonderful stay and superb experience. Our deepest gratitude to all of you.

The beach was not ideal for swimming.

Exceptionnel

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel très calme avec un magnifique parc fleuri autour de la piscine et des chambres. Nous avons même eu la visite des singes un matin. Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres avec mise en place tous les soirs des moustiquaires et démoustication. Le bar sur pilotis au dessus de la plage avec vue sur l'océan propose de délicieux cocktails avec ou sans alcool. Tout le personnel est très disponible et aux petits soins. Les animateurs Inno et Iddy sont au top et très gentils. Ils nous ont organisé de belles soirées. Enfin une rencontre inoubliable avec les Massaï qui sont présents jour et nuit pour notre sécurité et qui sont des personnes extraordinaires avec qui nous avons eu de très bons échanges, sans oublier les parties de boules. Merci en particulier à Tadei, Laurent, Silingo, Robert et surtout YOHANA.

Les marées nous empêchent régulièrement de profiter de la plage mais nous étions au courant.

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour à Filao Beach. Cet hôtel à taille humaine est très propre et tranquille. Les espaces extérieurs très bien entretenus. la chambre spacieuse démoustiquée tout les soirs. Les animations. le bar face à la mer. la tranquillité et la sécurité tout était génial. Merci à tout le personnel qui se met en 4 pour que nous soyons satisfaits et particulièrement à l'adorable Martha, à Ino toujours attentionné et qui nous a fait découvrir le village voisin à Idy à Nassor champion des cocktails et bien sûr aux massais Yohana, Robert, Laurens, Tadei (et les autres) leur présence rassurante, leur gentillesse, leur sourire ont rendu nos vacances inoubliables Vous pouvez réserver en toute confiance Hakuna matata !!!!

Le buffet bof ! j'aurai aimé plus de fruits de mer . Par contre les crêpes au petit déjeuner sont délicieuses

They went out of their way to make a special dinner for my partner and I and they were very friendly.

The set menu’s and there was not a snack menu at the bar which I recommend. There was also not a lot of restaurant around the hotel so you didn’t have a lot of options to choose from.

« Après notre safari au nord de la tanzanie, ce séjour nous a apporté le calme et le repos recherché. »

Endroit très calme, belle vue sur la baie de Chwaka, la piscine est une belle alternative pour se baigner quand la mer est basse, tout le personnel est charmant et souriant et certains sont même francophones, la formule buffet des repas, avec une carte renouvelée tous les jours, nous a ravi les papilles, grande chambre, possibilité de la rafraichir le soir et de se passer ensuite de la clim grâce au ventilateur au dessus du lit, parfaitement silencieux. Cerise sur le gâteau, les personnels apprécient les gens souriant et respectueux et nous ont "récompensés" par un dîner servi offert près de la piscine, avis aux râleurs !

L'hôtel est un peu à l'écart du village : c'est ce qui permet le calme mais oblige à un moyen de transport pour sortir de l'hôtel, sauf grandes ballades sur la plage. Mais nous avions loué un scooter ce qui nous a permis quelques évasions. Et les excursions proposées dans l'hôtel, ou sur la plage par des locaux, notamment en bateau, sont aussi de belles occasions. Si la propreté n'est pas critiquable concernant l'ensemble de l'hôtel (chambres, lieux partagés, piscine, jardins...), ce n'est pas le cas de son environnement (vue de notre fenêtre sur l'extérieur très pollué de déchets) : c'est malheureusement assez commun à Zanzibar comme sur le continent, et pas seulement par les locaux puisque des lieux uniquement fréquentés par des touristes ne sont pas épargnés : en attendant le réveil des consciences, un nettoyage des abords de l'Hôtel lui apporterait un plus grand standing. De même, une préférence pour tout ce qui remplace le plastique serait la bienvenue comme contribution pour la préservation de l'environnement. Et les moustiquaires, présentes aux fenêtres et autour du lit, doivent permettre de se passer des insecticides : nous avons systématiquement décliné la proposition de "passer la bombe anti-moustique" dans notre chambre et n'avons pas du tout été gênés !

« Deux belles journées de déconnexion »

L’accueil du staff surtout l’équipe de restauration et de ménage, les masais présents également pour participer aux activités avec les enfants, le buffet est sympa mais surtout le repas privé du dernier soir qui a été une très belle surprise pour nous était exceptionnel bon et copieux ! Le ménage bien fait et par une équipe souriante.

Peut être renforcer l’organisation des animations, le premier jour si on n’ose pas ou si on cherche pas personne vient nous solliciter pour participer c’est dommage, quelques points de vigilance avec les transats qui devraient être remplacés. Ces petits détails sont largement compensés par la qualité de l’accueil et du service.

Filao is the perfect hotel if you’re looking to relax in a quiet, hidden spot

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The rooms were beautifully clean and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Every detail was perfect, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. On our last night, we were surprised with a special romantic dinner prepared by the hotel at the pool, which made our experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

It’s not an area with the most beautiful beach you can find on Zanzibar. If you’re interested in experiencing the white sandy beach and the ocean, you can join a boat trip on some days and visit the neighboring hotel for a day of beach relaxation.

« idéal pour la détente. »

ce fut une nuit vraiment reposante dans un endroit très retiré. les chambre sont confortables ainsi que l’espace de détente.

Le restaurant est très bon, cependant c’est un peu flou au niveau des choix des menus ainsi que les boissons. La plage qui n’est pas une plage car cet endroit se trouve dans la baie et l’eau est très loin et sale. Cela n’est pas la faute de l’hôtel bien sûr.
